Test one response capability — through execution.
A focused exercise where participants test a single response capability or process under a simple, static scenario to validate response performance under realistic conditions.
Unlike a Tabletop Exercise, a Response Drill focuses on execution, not discussion.

Participants are asked to perform a specific response task, such as:
• Activating a notification or alert process
• Conducting an accountability or roll-call
• Escalating an incident through defined channels
• Applying a specific response procedure
The scenario provides just enough context to trigger action — it does not evolve or expand beyond the capability being tested.
• Short, focused exercise
• Simple and static scenario
• Participants perform their real roles
• Use of actual tools, procedures, or communication methods
• No full organizational simulation
Response Drills are designed to be efficient and minimally disruptive.

Because it allows organizations to:
• Validate whether a specific response capability actually works
• Measure speed, accuracy, and effectiveness
• Identify practical issues in tools, procedures, or coordination
• Build confidence through repetition
Before those capabilities are needed in a real disruption.
Response Drills are ideal for:
• Teams responsible for specific response functions
• Organizations strengthening individual response capabilities
• Groups preparing for more complex exercises
• Organizations moving from planning to execution
Response Drills often follow a Tabletop Exercise and prepare teams for more complex simulations.
• Measured performance insights
• Clear identification of execution gaps
• Practical recommendations to improve response effectiveness
A discussion-based session where leaders and key teams walk through a realistic incident scenario to review decision-making, roles, continuity plans, and identify gaps before a disruption.
